Thanks so much, all of you! I go by that wall all the time & always look up at it because I enjoy the sight of the box of sky cut by the deeper blue angles. Luckily I had the camera along the other day when those things were hung up -- the first time I'd seen any signs of life up there. The great piece of serendipity was the quilt made of squares. You never see quilts here!

Now I know why the butterfly population has plummeted too.
Fascinating picture, though.

Now I know why the butterfly population has plummeted too. Fascinating picture, though. The Florida Museum of Natural History is also a research facility. It has a butterfly garden which is so elaborate they charge $10 per adult admission. I've never been inside, though I hear it is wonderful. When I was in school the museum was in a tiny building and they were unable to display their gazillions of items. This newish building has lots of room, so that when I visited Sunday I saw specimen drawers such as these displayed in all sorts of creative ways.

Great photo Bixa - Were you looking for a new refrigerator I am interested to know why there are so many but I THINK I worked out the purpose of the round 'E' signs......NO ENTRY ??

Ha ha, Tod! The first thing that occurred to me when I saw them was New Orleans, post-Katrina. You can't quite tell in the photo, even if you click on it for the big version, but those fridges have been converted into lockers. There are chains for padlocks running through the doors. The E with the slash means "no estacionarse" -- no parking. That area is behind the big municipal market & is for the cleanup crews. See the brooms?

Yep! I noticed the brooms but thought that was 'street cleaners' domain! Lockers you say? Easy to abduct in a situation of stealing loot???Ha Ha!

Nice one, htmb. I'd love to peruse those covers. I know this was taken a long time ago, but Bixa's #35 is AMAZING. I wish it were on my wall. It's been way to long since I was on AnyPort. Now I'll never catch up on all these great photos.

Very cool pic, Htmb! Thank you so much, NYCGirl. And I have to echo your words about not being on Anyport. I've tried to look in each day, but have mostly been too busy and tired to give the forum its due. Apologies to all who post & receive no reply from me.
