This should make for some peevish fun, if not outright hair-pulling and name-calling. I get to go first, for obvious reasons ~~ 1. Slum Dog Millionaire 2. Thelma & Louise 3. Legends of the Fall

Oh, I'm quite fond of the first two. I agree with Legends of the Fall. I think American Beauty, one of my husband's favorite movies, is hogwash. That probably makes me a philistine.

You know, I've never seen that movie & really should, since I like Kevin Spacey so much. Will get back to you after I've seen it. Actually, & I can already feel the tossed popcorn pinging off my forehead as I say this, I think men are more prone to being sucked into cinematic soppiness than women are. Which reminds me of another picture I hated, but which had my husband racing from the room to hide his tears when it was over: Beaches.

Regarding cinematic soppiness, I normally can watch carnage without blinking an eye but if a dog or cat or basically any animal gets hurt/killed, I'm a complete mess. Years ago, I was visiting friends. They went out to do a few errands while I hung out. They returned to find me a sodden, weeping, snot-nosed mess because I had just watched Ring of Bright Water. I've never watched it again.
Overrated - Pretty Woman - Prostitution as a positive career choice. It didn't help that Julia Roberts is on my "never see the movies he/she is in". Said list includes Tom Cruise and Demi Moore.

That list matches part of my list, joanne.

I liked that brown dress with the polka dots Julia wore in the movie, but yes, it's cinematic dreck.
Totally agree with you on Demi Moore.
