What a noble looking beast Fumobici. Dogs, well most anyway, really like that kind of weather. I know mine does. Downright frisky and then some.

He looks like he could apply for a noble job in one of the Peter Jackson movies.

She is such a beauty, Fumobici! Love the way you caught the light first gilding her, then silvering her in backlight.

Re: sex of pets. I had a friend who, as a child, always thought that all cats were females and all dogs were males. Makes sense.

Absolutely, cats are smart and not as needy as dogs.

Cats *are* feminine compared to dogs. The preening and concern for clenliness, the yoga stretches and poses, the lightness afoot (afeet?,) whereas dogs like to rough house, don't mind rain and mud all over them, love gross stuff, are less conditionally affectionate etc. etc. I've put my foot in it here haven't I?

Well, I'm just now listening to a little teacup dog in the suite across the hall from me that barks from 8 in the morning until his mistress comes home at 6 (or if she's out late, midnight). I feel sorry for the poor little bastard. Bark, bark, bark, and growl, growl, growl if you pass the suite. All day long. You'd never catch a cat doing that. Cats are clever enough to know that you'll come home, eventually. And then they'll punish you.

I have never thought of myself as a "cat person", and think that most of those cat-lovers cited in the link sound like frustrated nut cases. We have had a series of cats, but they have always been cats that our kids have brought home. They spend much of their time outside, only get cat food and have never slept on beds at night. And we only ever had one cat at a time.

Little black piggies! Are they any specific breed?
As for cats on beds; yes, Renzo sleeps at the foot of my bed, in the corner closest to the radiator. This is called symbiosis; individuals of different species cooperating in a way that provides mutual benefit. Bloody cold here this winter.
He doesn't necessarily sleep on my bed in the summer; he'd rather be by the window.
I do sometimes feed him plain chicken or fish if I'm cooking them, why not? But in his dish, not begged for out of mine.

Funny how the eyes play tricks. When I first looked at the pig picture I thought there were two large pigs. Now, looking again, I see my eyes were totally fooling my brain.

They were in a park, but I have to admit that I found them very lazy because they were still sleeping at 9:30 a.m.
