Although I can see Pets in the subject index I cannot find the thread for this . When I click on the link in the subject index it gives me a message error . So I am starting this thread but happy for my post to be moved elsewhere if there is another place for this photo.

Lugg, I think it might be called "Pictures of our Pets".

Oh, I know where it is -- in puttng down roots. I really love that photo, by the way, even if it makes your cat look like a professional model.

What a handsome kitty!
I was wondering where the "Pets" thread went. Why was it moved, so we could post photos we didn't take?

I think that must have been one reason, NYCGirl. I don't remember when/how/why it was moved, but I think it was because it quickly became more of a chat thread about our own pets rather than a showcase for good photography as set forth here: anyportinastorm.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=photo&thread=2207&page=1#84881The previous pets thread from Image Bank was merged with the Pictures of our Pets thread in Putting Down Roots. Lugg, thanks for catching that! When I read your OP, I thought "surely not", but you were right. I went & looked through the Pictures of Our Pets thread in Putting Down Roots. There I recognized the OP photos by Thill from the the pets thread that he started in Image Bank. I'm going to move that back into your new Pets thread. Also, I hope you don't mind, but I'm changing the name of your thread to Domestic Animals to further differentiate it from the thread in Putting Down Roots. And ~~ FABULOUS photo!

That pic is part of Kathie's modeling session for her adoption portfolio. She was a partly hairless, mangy, starving creature when Charlie took her in, but always a sweetie-pie. No treat, just doggy communication.

Oh, Mossie, you are a hoot (and not the kind as in "I don't give a....)." I love your sense of humor. I was so tempted to follow the group into the museum, but I figured the humans had already given me their permission to take photos outside and I didn't want them to get too tired of me. Besides, I was on my way to the car after spending a couple of hours inside. Someone - i cant remember who. Mossie? Kerouac? Bixa? - once posted a suggestion about making your camera a part of your everyday and I have really taken that to heart. I just happened upon these pups (about 8 in all) and their volunteer handlers who keep the dogs for a period of time before turning them over to needy persons to use as service companions. I think this must be an incredible sacrifice for those who lovingly raise these puppies, give them early training, and then give them up. And how fortunate for the recipient of one of these beautiful animals. We had many different Labrador Retrievers when I was growing up, and they were all brilliant, loyal animals. These pups reminded me so much of my old friends, I wanted to scoop them all up and take them home!
