Thank you. Here are some mountains. 12 of the tallest 20 mountains in the world are along this road. Where mountain ranges meet...Left - Hindu Kush, Right - Himalaya, Centre - cloudy Karakorum. Indus river snakes through. White glacier reaches Karakoram Highway

I grew up reading Kipling, Conrad and about other magic places. They are the places I wanted to experience. No-one else has seen these photos...family and friends just not interested! I am so grateful for the opportunity to share them with people here who understand the romance of travel.

What a gorgeous shade of blue, and the jellyfish look like ballerinas twirling. Great shot.

Questa I understand your disease now, when I was in Egypt we used to describe the feeling as "sand happy"

Questa, what is the old man in your last picture doing that everyone is standing and watching him?
The blue of your chech stands out beautifully against the colour of the sand.

Mossie...in Oz most of our deserts are bright red. Our expression is "she has red dust in her veins"
bjd...The Hotan river floods with snow melt from the high mountains every year. When it slows to a trickle the new layers of river stones carry the most perfect jade in the world. The old boy is gently digging in the rubble to find his treasure. Other people come to see if he is finding any...if so they amble home to get their digging tools and join in.
