The bells were part of the Swiss Centre at Leicester Square in London until it was demolished in 2008 to make way for the more important M&M's World shop which covers four floors. But the Glockenspiel finally returned to Leicester Square in late 2011 in a different form. DETAILS HERE

Oh, Kerouac, how beautiful! I love the colors of the glass. Do the bells actually have clappers?

Yes, the bells had little glass spheres as clappers. They were in a Palestinian shop displaying the products of Hebron.

I absolutely love them, but I suspect part of the charm is the mass of bells grouped all together. The colors and clarity of the glass make for a stunning photograph. The fish mobile to the right also looks very pretty.

Quite irrelevantly, the title of this thread reminds me that, in my mother's family, that poem was known, from its use as a child#s party piece, as "AndthebellsbellsbellsbellsbellsmayIhavemycakenowaunty?" My blog | My photos | My video clips"too literate to be spam"
