Thank you all
Bixa -yes, maybe I will return possibly out of season next year to see the carnival.
But so many places to see , so little time, so ...
PS I have given up re the black squares -I have re-posted but they keep coming back on a few photos, and I cannot work out why .

I only have three black squares today -- that's the best yet. I think that they will all disappear in time.

I somehow missed this thread earlier. Lugg, these photos are absolutely wonderful. I especially love the shots of the caves and the craggy beaches. Portugal sure looks like a beautiful country.
What carnival are you going to see next year?

Lugg - just found your report today! Your photos are excellent. I love the Algarve but I havent been there for over 15 years. We used to hire a villa most summers and take the children for a couple of weeks. We started off staying at Carvoiera but then it got too busy, then Lagos (on the edge of a golf club) and then we gave up and moved up to the hills at Monchique where, most days, we collected our fresh water from the streams flowing down the mountain. What lovely days they were - oh the Times Past.

I also missed this thread. Portugal is such a great country to visit.
We have been to Portugal three times over the last six years. And we'll be back 'cause there's still a lot to be seen!
