My second read through this AMAZING post of Kerouac's also had me searching for you Mich! Oh, so near and yet so far.........I once thought I caught a glimpse of our K when I was up at La Grande Arche, but alas it was not he Just a bloke on his own with a camera...sigh Kerouac I loved hearing all about your movie debut! I saw Soylent Green the first time at the drive-in with my boyfriend (now husband). I can still remember feeling extremely tearful at the end when the old guy goes to be euthanized and the room is filled with lovely music and scenes of flowers and fields. How teeny our world has become when I think there you were up on the big screen, and now here I am typing my thoughts to you on a small screen ;D

Proof positive that we were in the same place on the same chilly day! Sorry, I didn't see myself in any of your photos either...

They are both fibbing and the rest of you are blind! Really, really great pictures, Mich & they certainly add to the interest & fun of this thread. I watch this show, so I'm fascinated by these inside looks.

I am still amazed at the fact that we were there on the same day...
Going through my photos today, I realized how few I took. I was so overcome with the reality that we were actually there during filming had me physically leaning against anything and just gawking.
I am not mesmerized by movie/tv stars, it was the excitement of watching a production in progress.
Hopefully I will find that my sister was taking more photos than I did.
We must have been near one another at some point K, because the picture our dear Bixa circled us in is very similiar to one of yours. I think we were both focusing on the actors who came out on that balcony for a few moments.

Oh, I see Mich is going with "the actors who came out on that balcony" story.
Can't pull the wool over my eyes!

Wow, that is a crazy coincidence you both were there! You got some really great fly-on-the-wall shots as well, Mich. Looking forward to hearing about the rest of your adventures.

I have two questions: was this news clip made on the same day that the two of you were there, and is Merlin available to us in the states? I've never seen it, but then I have never actually looked for it.

Merlin is shown on SyFy in the U.S.
The news was probably filmed on the last day of shooting -- the 13th -- to be shown on the 14th. Mich and I were there on the 12th.

I think they were filming pieces of episodes 11-12-13 when we were there Yes, I saw the first episode of season 5 also. You don't think I would have fit in, slaving away in the mines?

Great Pics!!! We were there on the Thursday of filming, they spent about 2 hours on a scene in the courtyard of a young woman being hanged (possibly 2 scenes as they had a crowd for part of it with what looked like a different "victim") I couldn't see why the real fans found it so interesting. We hadn't realised they were filming when we got there & although we managed to see a lot of the inside of the chateau I would have preferred to see all the inside & not had the restrictions imposed by filming.

The news report was indeed filmed on the 13th while we were there. It isn't in the report but when we went in, the cameraman filmed the admission lady tearing the counterfoil off our tickets. I hadn't realised that it was the last day of filming as we left at about 4-30ish. If you can get BBC iPlayer online you'll be able to see the series in "catch-up"

BBC won't allow access to the catch-up services in France -- I had to snatch a pirated YouTube copy before it was deleted. But each time it is deleted, a new one pops up.
