This is me. this is Charlie I put in my user name, my code? kept getting punted. Finally because I really need to rant started a new identity. The Rant: What the hell is wrong with men? husbands. I refer to their inability to take a freaking hint!! The 25th was our 30th wedding anniversary. A big deal some would say. Me, not so much. Him, well he is a cheap ass SOB. He tells me dinner out at a nice restaurant. My choice. Not a problem. Then proceeds to make a reservation at a restaurant I despise.. I object!! then I object in a manner that would make most of you cry. This is no longer a hint. I hope he gets well soon

Maybe you initially gave him the wrong impression when you previously went to the restaurant you despise. He thought you liked it. So it's your fault.

After seeing the "throwing the other's possessions out the window" scene in so many movies, I am still hoping to see it in person some day.

Kerouac, I think it would be hilarious to witness that in real life. There's also the "torching the car" scene. In this case, lagatta, I would not doubt the influence of alcohol! I'm just disappointed this took place so close to my house in the middle of the night and I missed it!

What a title for a thread!.(" ") Takes me back to the days when the foot end of the bed would insist on rearing up and I had to fight it while it attempted to perform barrel rolls

There is a linguistic confusion here, mossie. To you, obviously, and me too, "pissed" means drunk. In the States it means annoyed, or as I would say "pissed off".

Nor mine. Even though I certainly don't shy away from using salty language when in the company of friends or very close colleagues, it's not an expression I use.

After seeing the "throwing the other's possessions out the window" scene in so many movies, I am still hoping to see it in person some day. I have witnessed this happen and to date my friend and I still laugh uproariously about it. It was a married couple that lived atop a restaurant that they ran for a good number of years in our neighborhood. It started off slow, just a few items, then escalated into a full blown free for all. They had a huge parrot and the parrot was repeating all the epitaphs that were being shouted out for all to hear. We feared for the parrot's life but gratefully he was spared. And, it was peak lunchtime and the restaurant was packed and witnessed the whole event!!!! I'm sure it was a memorable meal and recounted many times by all who saw it.

It happened years ago at my house. My wife had had enough of the state of the bedroom occupied by my son and his cousin so just opened the window and threw the whole lot out. Unfortunately I was standing under the window at the time....
Shoes can hurt......

Just be grateful they weren't spiked heels.
I once had a bucket of dirty mop water dumped on my head by a cleaning lady at a garden I was working on. I was down low under the raised side porch and apparently this was where the cleaning lady routinely would dump the bucket. She didn't see me below and well, you know the rest....

By the way, I do use pissed-off fairly often. For me, it seems a few notches higher than "annoyed", more like "mad as hell." Of course, now that I'm no longer in the workforce, I have fewer occasions to use it!
