Was there any kind of food that Henning did not like? Well, I do recall that he despised capers, because every time he saw them in my own photos, he would write "I'll have mine without the capers."
Apart from that, I think he ate just about everything and a lot of it -- and he was often generous enough to take photos of it for us, at home, in restaurants around town and during his travels.

Really really superb Kerouac. Everything we feasted our eyes on looks so healthy and delicious. Which makes me think it was not the diet our dear Henning was on, not even the Tiger beer, but the scourge of mankind,...the fags, always present with a lighter on top of the pack.
Thank you so very much for presenting this wonderful feast! The music background was absolutely wonderful.

At every death, people always speculate on cause of death. From what I learned from Hwinpp's hundreds of posts, there are truly a multitude of possibilities.

Are you planning a trip Kerouac? (Actually, when you and Bixa went to Cuba, the early mystery had me secretly wishing you were in SE Asia.)

I used capers again tonight on my steak tartare and was obliged think of HWINPP again. He and capers will be linked in my mind until the day I die.

I had forgotten about this lovely, thoughtful video.
I watched it again and came away teary eyed and famished as I skipped lunch today because we are going to a reception that's being held after a memorial for a dearly departed friend where there will be fabulous food and libations.
With regard to Henning's disdain for capers; I know of quite a few people, not necessarily picky eaters, who hold the same dislike. My husband is one of "them".
One of the other things about the video is how often prawns are featured with the head and tail intact. I can't tell you how often I have heard people say how disgusting this is to them. Some shudder at the thought of ingesting shrimp (prawns) with just the vein still intact.
My brother is one of "them".

I prefer prawns not to have the head on, but it is not a big deal if I have to deal with it. Since I use my fingers to pull off the shell in such cases, it is no big deal to pull off the head. But I don't suck the head, unlike one of our outstanding members whom I fully respect. The vein has never bothered me, but I also know a lot of people who can't stand the idea that if you can see it, it is full of shrimp shit. So what? I will admit that when I am peeling shrimp before cooking them, I will tug on the vein if it is visible and am pleased if it comes out.
