Monkeys had been constantly coming into our house- we then got some aluminium or similar screens. Grr... they make appearances into our apartment complex frequently, always audible and irritating.

anshjain97 - You aren't the only one! Today the big male "leader of the Pack" came through a small gap my mother had made for the cat to come inside, and the next thing she knew he was leaping past her through the front entrance with three bananas - having left two empty skins on the sideboard in the dining room! Buggars!
Our granadillas are ripe and I found skins in the garden - I don't mind that at all. Just keep out of the house.
I remember our Veternarian telling us - Chimps are the criminals of the Ape family. Don't ever let one get near you that is not retrained.

Oh my goodness! Monkeys in the house. Ugh!
I went to a dinky little girls camp when I was ten. It was run by a couple and our lodging was in a sort of a screened-in hut. One night when all of us girls were out for some reason, the couple's pet rhesus monkey escaped its cage and got loose in our cabin. The nasty little thing wreaked havoc, squeezing toothpaste everywhere, and defecating/urinating on many of the beds. Fortunately, my personal space was not affected, but most of the cabin was a nasty, disgusting mess.

Of course monkeys in a house are not the only evil animals that wreak havoc. Just about any critter that can get through a screen or squeeze through a window will not make friends of the residents.

SNAKES, really? We've also had the odd pigeon... Yes, snakes. Twice, twelve years apart, I found a very aggressive snake in the bathroom. The first time my husband killed the snake by hacking at it with a garden tool. It was a nasty and messy way to kill an animal. Very inhumane. The second time I caught the snake using a pail and a lid, and freed it from the house. Coincidently, both times I was pregnant with girls.

Ah I see. Snakes are frequently spotted in my apartment complex, but I doubt one has entered a building.
I've heard a myth that snakes have known to enter houses via toilets in Singapore.

I was never totally sure how the snakes got into my house. I had seen them in my laundry room which was located inside my garage. I theorized they slithered into my laundry basket each time and I carried the snakes into the house.

I have also heard that snakes can enter the house through a toilet. I imagine that these would only be water snakes, so I guess we don't have to worry about rattlesnakes or cobras in the bathroom. But where I grew up, a water mocassin was among one of the feared snakes of the region. They absolutely loved to swim.
