1. Petula Clark - Downtown. That is amazing. It's the very first song that I thought of, too, because I was living in France when it became a huge hit. So I will post another song from that period... 2. I Saw Her Standing There - The Beatles I discovered this song sailing on the SS France to spend my year in France because it was constantly playing on the jukebox in the pinball parlour on the ship. And a few weeks later I discovered another song by that group called "I Love You (yeah yeah yeah)" on a jukebox in the garden café of the Pépinière of Nancy. My brother and I were definitely embarked on a year that would change our lives forever. (Of course upon our return that was really only true for me because my brother slid back into a different existence to be in conformity with his environment. But I never minded being unpopular.)

Excellent choice, Huckle, especially when teemed with that very affecting memory.
I know I'm not the only person on this forum for whom this song covers a bunch of bases ~

Big Girls Don't Cry- The Four Seasons I didn't even have to listen to the song to be transported back to being a 14-year-old in a boarding school in Tipton, Indiana. We could get WLS in Chicago on our AM radios & this song was part of the soundtrack of that time.

Mick, you & I were born the same year. You are, however, five months and one week older than I.

Take heart in the fact that, despite your advanced age, you do look better than me.

Mick, to copy a youtube link from your phone to post here:
1. Find and click on the video you want. 2. Look below the title, etc. that is beneath the video. 3. Right underneath the number of views and how long ago the video was posted you will see icons for: 4. Thumbs up / Thumbs down / Share / Download / Save 5. Click on Share & a bunch of options will come up. The first one (on my phone, anyway) is Copy link. 6. Tap that & you'll get a "copied" or "link copied" notice. 7. Come to anyport and paste the link in.
