The recent birthday of an anyport member made me think about those contests at family reunions and the like. Those are the ones to find out who is the oldest or youngest, has the most kids, came from furthest away, etc. I'm racking my brains (the bestest? ) to figure out if I have a superlative something or other, but can't think of one right now. What about the rest of you? Within the anyport community, do you think you're the tallest or shortest, the best typist, had the most operations, lost or gained the most weight, fell the furthest, crossed more borders ............. well, you get the idea.

Maybe you do, but perhaps you should check with nautiker and regards first!

Perhaps I may claim to be the bestest navigator . As the chat up goes "You need a good navigator to lead you properly astray"

I may even venture to say that you are probably our mostest oldest member, which is a proud distinction -- unless you think it isn't, in which case you have to find somebody older than you to register here! ;D

At one time I owned five horses, and I suppose that record might stand until Lugg returns.
Edited to say: also geese, peacocks, sheep, chickens, guinea fowl, cows, quail, and probably several other animals that don't immediately come to mind.

Now there's a possibility!

Don't think you will be topped there, Rikita.
You can also have the mostest least of something. For instance, I probably have the fewest first cousins (zero) and maybe the fewest aunts (zero).
Mossie's mostest made me wonder who might have logged the most hours in the air.

(In my previous life I had something like 18 first cousins, and it was a relief to get rid of all of them when the family link was broken.)

Wow, Htmb ~~ that's a bunch!
Sorry, Kerouac, those 18 first cousins are still out there somewhere, so they count. It also means that you had aunts &/or uncles to account for those kids.

I have 63 first cousins all on the Paternal side of my family. I never did count the ones on the Maternal side but, I'm sure it's up there. (Both parents were the youngest of 10).

Ooopps! So sorry, Casimira! YOU must win that prize for the most cousins. Oh is ok. Kimby and I are the closest in age I believe, only 24 hours apart, Kimby the elder. Easy mistake.

Wow Casimira! Where I come from, when you marry and have a formal wedding, one general rule is that you are to send out invitations to all of your aunts, uncles and first cousins, including one guest each. Is this custom where you are from a well?
(Not saying we have to do this, just generally speaking, this is how we try to keep guest lists at a minimum.)

I don't seem to have beaten any records on here. My sister is 14 months older than me, my first 2 kids are 13 months apart, but my husband and his sister are 11 months apart (that doesn't count for me though).

Is this custom where you are from a well? (Not saying we have to do this, just generally speaking, this is how we try to keep guest lists at a minimum.) We did not have a formal wedding and were married here in NOLA so it was totally impractical for that many people to travel here from NY and parts unknown. I don't keep up with all these cousins. I saw a great majority of them at my mother's funeral in 2010. Many of them I did not recognize because I had not seen them in so very long.

Wishful thinking perhaps, but I don't think my age is a distinction, more a handicap.

I'm not a great speaker, so I won't challenge this... I can offer 1y5d - impossible to beat twins with that, though. something original: since I've left delivery suite (my dictionary tells me it's called that, never heared of this term before), I haven't spend a single night in a hospital. and since this is a travel board in the first place: I hereby freely admit that I've left my home continent only once in my whole lifetime (a one-week package trip to Tunisia...)
