Vel d'Hiv. Short for velodrome d'hiver. A big building used initially fir indoor biking, close to Paris. Infamous for servi g as a transit camp for 10k+ jews rounded up by FRENCH police and amiably handed over to Nazis during WW2. Symbol of shame and collaboration. Never to be forgotten.
