(Interesting factoid Whatagain but I don't get the connection to how men's shorts are related to a geographic location, so I guess I'll reply with Bermuda, an island)

ADELAIDE - Is a small rural town in the Eastern Province of South Africa. Adelaide's origins date back to 1835 when a British officer named Captain Alexander Boswell Armstrong (1787–1862) established a military encampment which he named Fort Adelaide after Adelaide of Saxe-Meiningen, wife of King William IV. Despite the earlier English settlers, who were part of the 1820 Settlers, later on a large number of both Scottish and Afrikaans people soon immigrated here too. The Scottish were also the first to erect a church in the local area.

New Germany Is a town situated just inland from Durban in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Originally Neu-Deutschland and subsequently translated, the name refers to settlement of the area by German immigrants in 1848. They came over to farm cotton. Jonas Bergtheil, an English Jew (1819–1902), emigrated to Cape Colony from Bavaria in 1834 and moved in 1843 to Durban, where he formed a company to bring settlers from Europe and grow cotton for the first time in South Africa.
PS. The company still exists today.
