The sight of all the trash and dying buffalos is upsetting. The temple is very beautiful, though, and you captured it well. It's very candid of you to show both the good and the bad.

nycg - the buffalo scene still haunts me. There was nothing I could do to help the animals. Later on in my trip I rescued an abandoned puppy, I lifted her up and carried her away...but the buffaloes....

I have my own image of what haunted me in India. It was at the entrance of the Pondicherry post office, where I had things to mail almost every day (I had so many things to tell so many people about my trip.). There was a collection of lepers at the entrance, smiling and fingerless. I would always balance a small offering on their stumps and would receive a blessing in exchange.

Yes, K, that's a terrible sight. I saw some lepers, only once, in Kathmandu. I wonder whether leprosy has been eradicated from India now. Do you know?
Coincidentally, I met a friend for lunch today who tells me that he and a group of friends are making plans to stay in Pondicherry next January and make it their base for several weeks. I hinted that they might be disappointed. I wonder what they are expecting to see and do. None of them are spiritual types so it's not the ashram or Auroville.
