Some months ago we asked the daughter of our architect if she would like to earn some extra money by painting the plastered sections in the brick walls where windows used to be. This open space is a courtyard in our shop and office building. I only requested she paint a scene in Montmartre that I am particularly fond of. My husband wanted a Bushman rock art painting. The rest was entirely her choice. This is what we got: Looking at Le Consulat and rue Norvins. The two figures sitting at the little table are me and my old man! You will notice a shop with our shop name on it..... The rock art: And the famous 1955 painting by Pablo Picasso 'Don Quixote'. The very beautiful 1888 painting "Starry Night over the Rhone" by Vincent van Gogh. Here you can see it's position at our back door into the courtyard. Claude Monet's "Water Lily Pond" Opposite 'Water Lily Pond' is his "San Giorgio Maggiore At Dusk" or his "Twilight Venice" - they look very similar.

What a charming idea, beautifully executed! I love the waterlily panel next to the door. Tod, did you mean to post this Maritime Museum? (some browsers make the forum "jump", which means that it shifts just as you're clicking on something, taking you to the next nearest thing instead. )

"The Arts" is Maritime Museum, so I guess you're okay with it here. ~?~

Thanks! We will be changing some of the panels when she is available. At the moment Jessica is busy upgrading the billboards and artwork for our local circus. You may find it interesting to see her other skills in bronze, sculptures in cloth and beads, and her medicinal therapies - She is a qualified Sangoma so can 'throw the bones' for a patient.
In the meantime here is her UTube version of the artwork in our courtyard:
Sangorma Story:
First bronze throw for Jessica.

Ohhh ~~ I'd love to see the circus stuff, if possible!
She is really, really something. The bronze video instills a feeling of awe for the ancestors who moved forward from the stone age. And the sangorma video is utterly fascinating. She explains so beautifully and is such a natural, unselfconscious person.
Thanks so much for sharing this here, Tod.
