The Atlantic Coast, most particularly in Florida, is day by day losing it's beaches, as in sand, due to coastal erosion and over development. For years now they were pumping sand back from the waters to help restore the beaches but, it is now to a point where there is no more sand available to do so. The alternatives are, to import sand in from the Barbados and some other islands South but, it is not very cost effective. The latest effort is to grind down recycled glass to help restore the beaches with sand. Sand is after all, ground down glass. www4.vindy.com/content/national_world/316259820723143.php
