He was in Belgium this past week -- giving a big barbecue party with his new neighbours.
If Depardieu's ego is as big as his stomach, he probably doesn't think much about anyone else.
That said, it's only looking at this video that I realized that we haven't heard a peep from Medvedev since Putin took over as president again. It's not even musical chairs -- just one big throne for Putin.

It hasn't bothered the big guy so far that Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina are stuck in jail because of expressing their political beliefs through music, nor that two other members of their group had to flee Gerard's wonderful new homeland in fear.

Just yesterday I read an article about a Russian billionaire who has started a political party that hopes to work within the system. He has been trying to get people to run for mayor or governor in various areas, but everytime someone goes on a candidate list, he is investigated for corruption or jailed.

Often wondered what Depardieu thinks of Putin these days, after Crimea and all that...mind you, going by the look on his face at 1.33 below, he won't be too bothered, either way...

We don't really care in France because we have forgotten that he exists. His last 3 or 4 films totally bombed simply because he was in them, so I don't think he'll be getting more work in France any time soon. And anyway, he has changed his residence status to Belgium.
We are happy that his daughter Julie Depardieu is a fine actress and not off her rocker. She is a bit embarrassed when she has to talk about her father.
