Thanks for the topic Deyana. I have always associated Country Music with the stuff I've had to endure on the car radio while traveling, where, in actuality, there are so many talented country artists that are overlooked. There was an interview with Roseanne Cash this a.m. which I listened to intently in order to add more to this thread, be it pro or con. In any event, I will try to find the link to the interview, but, in the meantime, here's a tune I did enjoy that I was able to find on youtube.
Well, I can't find the youtube insert/post button on our new board so...sorry, but, again, thank you for starting the thread.

Thanks for the thoughts, casimira. I wasn't sure if anyone, apart from me, was actually listening to any of this kind of music. I know it's not to everyone's taste. I just post it so that I can listen to it again when the mood takes me. I'm a bit strange like that haha... I know what you mean about enduring some of the country music that is sometimes played on the radio. Most of the real old stuff doesn't appeal to me either. Too sad and sorrowful, although I'm sure it was just a reflection of the times it was written in. Today's 'New Country' is more about romance and fun and just issues that happen in life. It is a bit different from your everyday 'pop' song, in that it's based more on the words, story and lyrics than the sound of the instruments. It can make a refreshing change sometimes. Regarding inserting a video on here, there are two ways to do it. If you are linking a song from YouTube, you can simply copy the URL of the song and paste it on here. At the beginning when all the glitches were still being sorted out by Proboards, this feature did not always work. But I think it works okay now. The way I personally do it is by putting the URL in the Video button/box, which can be found at the top of the reply box, (it looks like a film reel, next to the picture button). This box gives us the option to post videos from all the sources I have listed below. This is a new feature, which we didn't have at our finger tips before this new V5. Supported Video Sites College Humor Daily Motion Gametrailers.com Justin.tv Meta Cafe MySpace videos UStream Veoh Vimeo YouTube And any direct link to .wmv / .avi / .mpg / .mov / .mp4 I hope you have more luck with putting up your next video, casi. We need you in the '8 song' game

I am allergic to 98% of country music, while my brother has become totally immersed in it. It just goes to show how the meanders of life affect everybody.

Tell me it isn't so, Kerouac! At least you do like 2% of it I like uplifting or funny songs and the last two I posted make me giggle every time. Childish I know, but oh well It's sweet that your Mama likes Country music, I bet me and her could have a great conversation on who the hunkiest male Country Star is right now. (And there are a few) *sigh*.

Ooops! That was your brother likes country music, not you Mama. It makes more sense now haha.... If your brother is American, that is not surprising. I'll post some more up tomorrow

I would never listen to country music, but this is hilarious. A mashup of 6 recent popular songs - into one song, and they all sound the same. Oh, those good ole boys...

That is absolutely excellent. While I am generally allergic to country music, I actually find it kind of comforting sometimes on road trips through "country" areas. It makes much more sense to hear that in Small Town America than rap music or hip hop.

Never having travelled through small town America, I can confidently say that I can't stand country music and would dislike it as a backdrop to anything.
