According to Oxfam, 67 people own half of the resources and wealth of the planet. I am aghast.
I don't know how they reached this figure, but if it turned out to be 6700 people, I would still be aghast.

Aghastliness aside, I would really like to know how they come up with these numbers. What does that mean? How do they set dollar values on everything?
For example, the recent art installation that was thrown away be a cleaning woman was "valued" at several million dollars. Who sets this value? Is it just what someone with more money than brains is willing to pay for it?

We increasingly live in cloud cuckoo land. Our politicians tell us the economy is improving, but the country keeps on borrowing more and more money. House prices are increasing at a rate far in excess of inflation so the youngsters coming out of our useless universities, with huge debts, have no chance of settling down and raising a family. The economics of the madhouse I'm afraid.

When I read the first sentence I thought there must be a typo...then when you think about it for a minute, they are not only talking about wealth in monetary terms or even in investments in art, jewels, precious metals, etc. They have included resources, which to me is the bulk of the wealth. I'm thinking oil, mines, technology, and land. I'd like to know who they are.

Well, we know a few of the names, but not all of them, especially the Chinese and Indian ones.
