All right! Though Netherlands did look mighty good. And tall.

I'm so glad that a South American team made it to the final.

Lola, the Dutch (men and women) are the tallest people in the world. Looking at Messi among them was rather amusing. I kept imagining him running between their legs...

I will support Argentina for the final, even more so because Brazil desperately wants them to lose.
I will support Brazil for 3rd place, because they need a consolation prize.

Oh well, 0-3 in the end. Can't say it wasn't deserved.

Still supporting Argentina at half time. Germany has proven that it is not at all invincible.

Well, Germany squeaked by, but just barely.

Well, my Argie friends are devastated.
I confess (no dissing of Germany supporters, and they have an excellent and deep side) that I wanted Argentina to win as it would have met a bit of a party in my neighbourhood involving both people of (rather distant) Italian origin and those from various Latin American communities. And of course old-stock Québécois would join in.
There are a few lone horns beeping for Germany, but there really isn't much of a German population here. I belong to Goethe Institut, but they didn't have a big screen viewing this year.

I have a friend who belongs to a tango group made up of many Argentinians and Germans. He's wondering how tomorrow's dance will go.
