Fans of sushi might need a fix whilst in Paris but I can live without it. Don't hate it - just like it now and again. Now talk noodles and I'm all for it! Two trips ago we went to Rue St Ann especially to find a nice Japanese noodle bar. And we did. I have since stumbled upon another street lined with Japanese eateries. This is Rue Monsieur Le Prince which most tourists associate with the old Pollidor restaurant. I was amazed to find places like Sushi Royal, Japonarama, Kiotori Grill, Sushiyaki, Top Sushi, Traiteur Kim San, Yokorama and Itaoki. So close to Luxembourg Gardens makes it a nice downhill trip for lunch on the way to Blvd Saint-Germain.

There are more than 1000 Japanese restaurants in Paris (even if 90% of them are operated by the Chinese).
On my street, a new Asian takeway just opened that promises "hand pulled noodles" - I will have to try them one of these days.

Here a lot of Japanese restaurants are operated by Vietnamese, and others by Koreans (who at least share some foods).
I'm not mad about sushi either; of course I'll eat it, because I love fish, but I'm not wild about it. I don't hate noodles, but love fish and seafood; the fish can be raw but I love a good tempura, which if well done is fried but not greasy.
We don't have as many Japanese restaurants as Paris, even in proportion to the size of the cities - there is not the same Japanomania as there is there.
