I thought that this was a quite poignant article about grocery shopping by the homeless.

Missed seeing this when it was posted. Excellent & thought-provoking. I was struck with how the woman seemed to have bought nothing for herself. Even the high-priced cherries were probably chosen so her girls could have the experience of cherries.
Eleven dollars is obscene for apples, a crop grown in the US. That item alone explains volumes about what food choices struggling families have to make.
I do think Tori & others in her position could be a tad more flexible in their choices were they not brainwashed with the US insistence on refrigerating absolutely everything.
