One down and so many yet to go.....I'm talking about playing catch-up on Anyport! I certainly enjoyed your photos Kerouac. Bordeaux looks very visitable....is that a word? I think Mossie and I would like to have seen a snap of your croquettes de pieds de porc. Several photos interested me - The fabulous fountains, the boys scrutinising a camera?, That avenue of trees is what I would love to walk under, Next to the cathedral, the tower which has hints of Paris' Tour Saint-Jacques, not the statue of Chaban-Delmas so much but I am intrigued by the last part of his surname...we have a small town called Delmas here in South Africa. All the photos were lovely and I was blown away by that fantastic bridge.

I find myself with a sudden urge to return to Bordeaux -- but in warm weather, so I'll put it back on the shelf for at least 6 months.

Great set of photos. My favorites are the ones of the children enjoying themselves in the water. What a great place for a kid to frolic. I wish there were more public spaces like that here.

Bordeaux is beginning to suffer from its popularity now that it is only 2 hours from Paris by TGV. It is the French city with the fastest rising real estate prices -- +15% since last year. It also has the 3rd largest number of traffic jamas in France after Lyon and Paris. And since it is on the main motorway to Spain, the autoroute becomes unbearable all through summer. Airbnb is being accused to taking housing away from all of the university students, and signs are appearing throughout the city -- "Parisians, go home!"
Something to keep an eye on.
