It's the story of how a hotel in the UK has in their terms and conditions when you stay that if you leave a bed review on Trip Advisor they will take £100 from your credit card.

It doesn't make one want to stay there, despite the reasonable cost.

I only fill in the questionnaire the hotel emails me after we get back home. I find this a much better research tool for the hotel as people are probably going to be more candid and not soften hotel problems encountered whilst staying there. At one such hotel we stayed at in Truro the rooms were delightful but the restaurant was absolutely awful. Even so, the restaurant filled up to capacity on the only two nights we ate there! Is it us I thought? Only until I sat watching a woman trying unsuccessfully to cut into her steak for a full 3 minutes. She grimaced and struggled but never once looked up to see if a waiter could take it back. My review was able to answer questions about the rooms and restaurant separately so they certainly got the full picture.
