Long ago, we had a fun thread (well, I thought so) about animal verbs. Today I have been thinking about vegetal verbs and wondering what we can all think of. Here are a few for a start: to root around in the refrigerator to tree a cat to stick out like a sore thumb

the heroine pines away until the hero springs up. He has no celery to support her but the pear of them are happy.

Well you have been breaking quite a few rules since you are not sticking only to verbs, but you have been doing so with gusto, so far from me to criticise you. I must admit that I would never have thought of something like "spruce yourself up". I wouldn't want this thread to vegetate.

Oh Boy...another case of not reading the rules properly. Why limit anyporters creative flow by sticking only to verbs?
