I would like for everyone to see the movie Down By Law and post ther critiques. I think most of you would love it. I need to see it again.

Yeah -- I need to see it again, too. Tried to find a link online, but only Youku is available. Erg. If anyone has the patience to let it load, here it is: www.tv-links.eu/show_link.php?data=NDA3NzA=It's probably better to try to rent it, but treat yourself to the opening credits on the link above, at least. In the meantime, with apologies to Casimira:

I saw it way back when it was made, and it did not totally charm me. Although I generally like movies about slackers, I also need to be able to dream, and as I recall, these people didn't really have an interesting plan -- at least in Stranger than Paradise, they went to Florida to get away from the snow!

Wish I could remember which Jarmusch flicks were which.
Is Stranger than Paradise the one with the honeymooning Japanese couple going to Graceland? And is that the same one with the murder and the bellboys? It's been ages.

No, Stranger than Paradise has John Lurie living in a shitty apartment in New York when his cousin from Hungary shows up at the door. She is on her way to stay with family in Cleveland. Later he and his friend go to see her in Cleveland where it is FREEZING. So the three of them drive to Florida.

Oh yeah -- I remember that. It's one of the black & white ones. The other two I remember in color. I don't know why, but Strngr in Paradise is my least favorite of his movies. It's depressing how Lurie treats the cousin.
