Many thanks, it is said one can get anything at Camden, from coke to clap. I have never done the canal ride, it certainly looks a nice way of relaxing from the general rush of London.

Crowded? There's hardly a soul there! The canal cruise looks superb. I've seen those boats before but I never investigated them.

Fun, tod. Thanks for this.
I think I recognize the wares of Scorpio Shoes, my favorite shoe store full of shoes I'd never wear.

So did you have some South African street food, Tod?
I have a book called Narrow Boat to Carcassonne -- by a Brit and his wife who sailed one across the Channel and down to Carcassonne along the canals in France.

bjd - I have that book too! It's a lovely story and one that inspires me to one year take a road trip as near to the canal as possible - done narrow boating and as lovely as it is, can get very hairy at times. We're too old now - bones and muscles not so hot.
No, we did not buy any but spoke to the South African lady cooking the curry - made her give me a sample - then told her she had made it far too mild. But then she is not cooking for us, she is selling it to folks who have never eaten a full blown Durban curry in all its delicious hotness! It has to be full of flavour and blimming hot. Sweat beads must appear on ones nose, top lip and finally your brow. Kerouac you know what I mean...
Lola, if I were 40 years younger I would be in those shoes like Flint!

Not surprised the Durban curry was toned down! Suppose the Malaysian food was as well. What lovely photos, and no, for an urban market I don't find Camden crowded at all in those photos.

Simply enchanting Tod. I could easily have eaten my way around the globe, done a wee bit of shopping, tacky though much appears to be. Something for everyone. The best part, the boat ride. You folks are living well dear. I'm so envious. Thanks for sharing this.

Thank you all. Kerouac you would definitely find the boat ride enchanting. As you arrive at the narrow boat basin look across at the island covered in Willow trees. Lord Byron loved it so much he used to compose some of his works there. I'm sure his shoes weren't covered in duck shit as they would be today!
Before or after - depending on which journey you pick ( there or back), one can sit above the tunnel of Warwick Avenue at a nice restuarant and gaze down at the boats. I did this with my mum and remember her blouse sleeve being caught up in her plate of tomato soup......What a clean up job! ( I love and miss you my darling mom. xxx).
