Really? Good for you! Will be interested to see how it does for you. About how large is the plant you're getting?

can't think it will be too enormous as it was just £4.50 plus postage.

Of course I think of Florida as being warm all year round but obviously not.

Not in the north where I live. We typically have several days below freezing each winter, and may have a couple of hard freeze periods each year.

I think this is the same fern (picture taken in about 1997).

My Flying Dragon is about 2’ tall now. It’s still a little dragon...

That’s a very interesting photo of the fern, Aaron, taken from a great angle. It’s nice to see how it looked in 1997. Is it still there?

Many thanks to visitor Aaron for that great picture but also for bouncing this fabulous thread back up into view.
I really enjoyed going through it, not least because it's been so long that I'd forgotten some of the gems in it. It was also wonderful to be reminded of what an astoundingly different part of the US that Florida is.

I had somehow missed this thread but am glad it's been revived. So, so reminiscent of NOLA gardens although we don't get harsh cold temperatures on an annual basis. Every few years we will get a freeze but, it's totally unpredictable which makes for much frustration when it does. The clean up afterwards is a real pain. Most especially the banana trees and the gingers.
I have to say that the turtle on the rock picture is spectacular.
Thanks for sharing these with us.

One of the biggest tragedies of this site is the fact that htmb decided to stop posting pictures here.
