I seem to recall Kerouac posting
these tunnels which have recently been introduced in the media,
Please if you can, Kerouac try and help me find it.
I do hope that they won't become a tourist attraction.
Selfish of me I know, but.. I can be a greedy person.

I think that thread or post about damgerous night time spelunking in Houilles--which I remember--must've been deleted.

Spelunking! A totally new word to me - thanks!

It seems to me that there was something more elaborate in the telling of. More detailed. I don't know, maybe I'm losing it... My memory of late is playing all kinds of "tricks" on me.
As for spelunking, I did go spelunking in some caves in the Ozarks. It was part of an outdoor experiential education course that involved rock climbing, repelling, building a Burma bridge and yes, spelunking. I wasn't real crazy about crawling in a dark cavernous place, which was also wet and slimy with the sound of bats flying above and about.

I may have told the story on TTR.

I may have told the story on TTR. If that were the case, I would never have read it as I don't visit there. And I did read it.

I remember that, long ago, I posted a link to someone else's experience. It was written by someone who went underground and up into the Pantheon. I believe you commented on it, Kerouac, but it wasn't about you.

I may have told the story on TTR. I was only on TTR for a very brief time just prior to the launching of APIAS, and am sure it wasn't on there that I read it. I guess it will just have to remain one of those mysterious things that go POOF. I don't know why it would have been deleted. I remember how fascinating a story it was and when I heard a radio segment recently about the underground tunnels I immediately recalled your story. P.S. Grazie Fumobici for validating my recall so as to not believe I am losing it or imagined this.

Well, that would indeed be a possibility if any Anyport members were inconsiderate enough to frequent other websites, which I'm sure is impossible.
I'm sure that my story is here somewhere since things like that are never deleted, but it might have been completely off topic and therefore hard to find, such as "what's for breakfast" and I could have written "I really needed breakfast after the night underground...."
