This is a thread for anyone to share their photos, stories, videos, etc. of Western North America wildlife.
To start: we set up our critter cam on Whidbey Island, Washington, facing our bird bath, which is really just a plant drip pan with a rock in it. We've had lots of visitors, and this is one of my favourites.

I know it's necessary for small animals to be wary no matter what they are doing, but this sort of scene makes me not want to be reincarnated as a small animal if every moment of the day is so stressful.

Cute. He is a paranoid little thing, isn't he?

Well, considering an owl sits in the tree above his head, he has every reason to be nervous.

And here is the owl that comes to visit. It's a young one, still has its fluffy baby feathers. I like how, when it starts bathing, it looks a bit like a chicken.
A video I made out of time lapse photos.

Love the owl, my birdbaths get a workout but I've never seen anything as exotic as an owl use them.

Is he looking for the squirrel at the same time?
