Wonderful narrative and super photographs.
Out of curiosity, what keeps Brittany from completely winning your heart and what kinds of places are you more likely to fall for?

I just rediscovered this report almost as though I had never been there, because everything looks much more beautiful than in my fuzzy memory. I suppose that it is the Brittany countryside and the villages that do not really appeal to me, because I generally appreciate the cities -- for example as in my recent report about Nantes. On the other hand, I spent two nights in Rennes this summer but did not really get a chance to appreciate it. I have made photo reports about cities around France where I have spent less than 2 hours, but I found no reason to make a report about Rennes... yet.

I just rediscovered this report almost as though I had never been there Ah yes, Kerouac -- and I enjoyed it as though I'd never seen it before! Thanks so much for resurrecting this. My renewed pleasure on seeing it prompted me to look at the first page of the France listings. Just a glance showed that Breeze's lovely The Mayenne and your excellently surprising The "hortillonnages" of Amiens had both sunk down the list with barely a ripple . Of course I realize that people go "back in the stacks" to look at threads again, but it's great when a comment is made to bounce an older thread back to the top so more of us can enjoy it. I had forgotten what an eye-opener this thread was about Quimper's charms and how many sheerly gorgeous photographs are included. Thanks!
