I have been to two of these. Agree for one of them.
Worst airports of 2015
1. Port Harcourt International Airport (Nigeria)
2. King Abdulaziz International Airport (Jeddah, Saudi Arabia)
3. Tribhuvan International Airport (Kathmandu, Nepal)
4. Tashkent International Airport (Uzbekistan)
5. Simon Bolivar International Airport (Caracas, Venezuela)
6. Toussaint Louverture International Airport (Port au Prince, Haiti)
7. Hamid Karzai International Airport (Kabul, Afghanistan)
8. Tan Son Nhat International Airport (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam)
9. Benazir Bhutto International Airport (Islamabad, Pakistan)
10. Beauvais-Tille International Airport (Paris)

I have been to none of them, so can't say.
What I can say, although it might be offensive, is this: US and Mexican airports are head & shoulders above European airports. After being in Orly, Punta Raisi Airport, and Ataturk I can't believe I ever bitched about flying in my two countries.

No, that treat has been denied me. Does it have NO ORGANIZATION whatsoever?
Forgot to mention Heathrow and its totally jumbled security system. All of the explanatory signs were in English -- English of such poor syntax that it created clumps of native speakers all asking each other what the signs meant.

The best airports imho are to be found in China. At least among the ones I've been to.
Frankfurt I find quite effective in Europe. Barcelona is nice - as is Madrid.
The worst I've been to is Odessa. The funniest was Grand Case - Saint-Martin, french side.
Bauvais - never wanted to go there...

The St. Maarten airport has always been famous as the scariest in the world for people on the ground -- but it is on the Dutch side.

When is an airport a 'good' airport? Where you don't have to walk miles to reach your gate? Where security goes fast? Where they have good coffee? I mean ... what are the criteria?

Clearly you have not been to La Guardia. I don't know when the last time you used La Guardia but on our recent holiday to NY we used La Guardia on the return trip. It had been many years since I used it and I can safely say that it is dramatically improved and was very satisfactory in every way.

I have been through 3. Kathmandu and Ho Chi Minh at least weren't physically dangerous though. Almaty (Kazakhstan) on the other hand...I have written about getting kidnapped at 3am by 2 guys posing as a taxi driver and 'assistant' who threatened to drop me over the adjoining border fence into Kyrgyzstan without any papers if I didn't pay up. It took some bluffing on my part plus $US 70 to get away. Have any of you seen the site "Sleeping in Airports" It has all the airports graded for tips like good hiding places to snooze and lots of funny anecdotes. www.sleepinginairports.net/
