Since our host forum changed the format recently, many things we were used to on AnyPort either no longer work the same or are unavailable.
This is a round-up of common usages and how to work them. If a topic is not covered in this thread, please go to the Tech Support & Advice thread to ask for help.
Starting with a positive addition from the V5 update:
DRAFTS -- saved work
First go to your Profile to set Enable Drafts: Profile > Edit Profile > Settings > Enable Drafts (5th item)
This will mean whatever you are typing anywhere on Anyport is being saved as you type it. (in theory)
So, now you have Drafts enabled:
If your message disappears for whatever reason before you can post it, first try clicking on Reply to see if the draft appears -- it will be in a separate, floating window. If you don't see it, scroll carefully up the page as it may be at the top. You can also exit the thread completely and re-enter it. Sometimes the draft will appear. Again, scroll up if you don't immediately see it. If it doesn't appear when you re-enter the thread, try pressing Reply to see it that works.
You can also try clicking on History in your browser. The post may be there. But if it's not and you were making a picture thread, the links to the hosted pictures you were using might show up.

QUOTING
To quote an entire post: click the Quote button in the upper right corner of that post.
To quote only part of a post: highlight the chosen portion of text in that post, then click the "Quick Quote" button that will appear after highlighting.
Another way to quote only part of a post: click the Quote button on the pertinent post. In the message box, carefully staying within the Quote brackets, delete everything you don't want to quote.
Important: when replying to a quote, be sure to begin your reply outside of the ending Quote set of brackets. No need to space down first, as that will happen automatically when your reply is posted.

PICTURE POSTING
First, you need to host your pictures. Please read Part Two here.
Okay, now you have hosted a picture and acquired its url -- do this:

Be sure to paste your url over the "http://" already in that slot.
You may also simply paste the url directly into the message box, bypassing the Image button. Your picture will appear when posted.
The downside to this is that you will not be able to Preview the picture before posting.
Important note: if you use PostImage -- postimages.org -- you needn't go through any of the tra-ca above, merely use the code they give you to paste into the message box.

POSTING A LINK (url)
Paste in the url for the link, then highlight it and click on the
link button.
Click on "create link" in the bottom right of the window that opens.
To create linkable text:
