Although it is impossible to forget the recent tragic events, life goes on. Lots of people have planned trips to Paris at Christmas all year, and most of them are still coming. So I figure that I'll do what I can to post some cheerful images for the next couple of weeks. First off this year are the Christmas windows of Printemps on Boulevard Haussmann.

Absolutely wonderful, delightful, mesmerizing, and much better windows than last year. I love seeing the puppet strings catch the light. It reminds me there are several geniuses at work on their computers, getting it all so perfect. A wonderful video Kerouac and I'm glad to see the 'overhead' decorations light up. When I saw them in daylight they did not look as good.

I was there last week, and you really take much better pics than myself :-)

Ooooooooo ~ fun and magical as ever! You make such good videos, too.
I can see why you declared Printemps the winner, but I absolutely adore the Galeries Lafayette displays, especially the jellyfish thingy. Very cool space effects and that camera effect is great. I do think they might have nixed the storm troopers -- way too chilling in light of recent events.
I also very much like the sleek and frosty feel of the Forum des Halles decorations.

Les Halles looks all spiffed up with the decorations and red carpet.

They have to change the red carpet about every 2 days because it gets so filthy.

I can believe it! I find it very surprising that it's even there.

Kerouac, those photos are very nice. The colors are excellent!
I bet the GL staff are extremely sorry they went with the Star Wars theme. The whole thing must have cost a fortune, not to mention the licensing fees. The use of the storm troopers in the displays is very unfortunate,

Pretty! I wonder what it looks like from space. With all those lights, it must be easy to see even from very high up. I love the drugstore.

That's the discreet display of avenue Montaigne.

I love your annual holiday coverage. These displays are so festive, they must really brighten everyone's day. Although I agree the robed Star Wars figure looks out of place.
Fabulous GL tree, as always.
