I used to love sending and receiving Christmas cards, but that was in the pre-digital age, and today we just fire off a quick email instead. I used to love searching out pleasing cards, and gathering all my pens and address books and stationery (does anyone have stationery anymore?) and spending an evening writing. Then taking a bundle down to the post box and dumping them in. Someone on facebook offered to send out Christmas cards to their friends and it got me thinking.... I know some members on anyport exchange post cards (although I've never received one ) and I was wondering if anyone would like a Christmas card this year? If so, PM me your address (no matter where) and I will send you a card. Of course, I expect one back. So, if you trust me with your home address (I promise I'm not a stalker. Anymore...) send me a PM. And if anyone else wants to get in on this, feel free. I'd like to do my bit to keep the traditional postal systems viable for a while longer.

This weekend I will begin with my Christmas card list Lizzy! I still send out about 40 every year and enjoy doing it. I try not to do them all at the same time, usually it takes me 4-5 days. Some take me longer than others and I sometimes add pictures. I would love to add you to my list for Christmas cards and postcards, sending you a PM now. I enjoy receiving them too!

A necessary chore, about half of mine are hand delivered to my nearby friends and neighbours. I started by taking the 3 that go to America with me to Paris so that I could endure the bureaucracy of the little Av Laumiere post office and get them sent off with French Christmas stamps on. Won't puzzle anyone for long, my handwriting is not good nowadays. I had two given to me at a lunch I attended today, which reminded me that I must get stuck in and sort out the list and buy whatever is required

I have just about run out of people to send Christmas cards too. Everybody is dead.

I've been known to send a card or two. I'd be happy to exchange cards with regulars here. I'll pm you, Lizzy.

I thought the Wise Men were traveling through snow. I was probably an adult before I figured out the glitter was supposed to be sand.
My brother sent me the most beautiful Christmas card one time. It was a Renaissance nativity scene reproduced on good paper mounted on a tasteful dull gold background. I opened it to see that he had written, "It's a girl!"
