Hello all.
My husband and I are travelling to Italy in July. We would really appreciate any advice/recommendations on small villages/towns to stay in Tuscany for a week. We have stayed in Praiano on the Almalfi Coast a few times and we are looking for somewhere in Tuscany with the same feel. The attributes we are interested in are:
- small village/town, only not keen on any crazily busy locations
- apartment/villa accommodation
- a few restaurants etc we can walk to
- we will have a vehicle
- somewhere we can range out for day trips
We really appreciate any assistance given.
cheers
Nell

I'll throw Anghiari (AR) out there as a possibility just because i know it well and it seems to fit your criteria. The entire charming town is easily walkable, there are plenty of local lodging and good dining options and most of Tuscany (except perhaps the northern coast and the Maremma) are within easy day trip distance as well as most of Umbria and Le Marche, both being widely under-rated in my opinion.
