You don't even have to go out -- an ever-changing scene in front of your window!
It used to be like that at our daughter's apartment. You could open the window, lean on the railing and see people, shops, cars, life... No river though and fewer tourists.

Looks like the great weather is continuing! It's definitely better to go in September, though this year is has been pretty crappy everywhere in France.

You have certainly chosen an excellent vantage point.
Interesting that the river is still so high and there is still rain about.

The school groups are here. This is the longest boat I've seen yet. I am amazed at how they can navigate the river at this length.

They are trainee angels. Not got their wings yet. Very unusual to capture them on film, normally it ends up all blurry. Strange but true is that they came, all of them, in the little white car. They could fit in because they don't have their wings. Plus, they needed some form of transport as well as they couldn't fly. Really. It's all true.

Mossie, the middle of the three photos, on his left hip? Just a cap I think, unless you see something elsewhere.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's a cap, too. A bit of an optical illusion. There were about ten police officers outside dealing with the two girls. I'm not sure what they had done, but I walked up just as they were being handcuffed and had to navigate my way through the crowd to get inside my door.
The people in white were having some sort of a reception at a café. Different window, different day. I'm not sure what kind of group they were. Maybe one of our Paris experts will know.

The people in white may have been disappointed non-attendees of the annual "dinner in white" in Paris which was held a couple of weeks ago. This is a totally unauthorised event which has been taking place for the last 27 years and draws between 5000 and 10,000 people each time. The police tolerate the event, whose location is revealed to members only a few hours before it takes place. This year it took place on Place Vendôme, but other years it has happened on Place de la Concorde, the Champs Elysées, Versailles, the Champ de Mars, Trocadéro, the esplanade of the Louvre, etc. People bring their own tables and chairs, white tablecloths, picnic baskets and countless bottles of champagne. Two years ago it was held on 6 bridges across the Seine and was attended by 12,000 people.

Htmb, this is a regally beautiful addition to a remarkable and beautiful series. How appropriate that you caught these views and this particular sunset on the evening that the Tower's display reflects the dismay and mourning over the events in Nice.

You got some really good sunset pictures, which is something I almost never get at this time of year because sunset is too late. I would do better in the winter except for some reason we don't see the sun at all on a lot of those days. The blue on the Eiffel Tower is very striking, but of course if you had gone to see it from the other side of Paris, it would have been red.

Was the other side red, or was it the bottom that was red? It was a very somber blue from my angle.
