It looks as if the three of you had a wonderful time in Toulouse and vicinity. I am going to have to spend some time re -reading this and looking at the photos again -all of which are so good. But for now. I could eat those tomatoes off the page; of all the churches the one I was drawn to was Notre Dame du Bourg . My overriding memory of that part of France is the fields of sunflowers so I enjoyed seeing those photos too. Wonderful, thank you.

FABULOUS! FABULOUS! FABULOUS! So much to (happily) absorb in the photos.
Also, I think it is pretty special that you three ladies were together.

How I love that cloister garden. There is one outside one of the major churches in Perugia - a relief for the eyes after too much elaborate carving, painting and statuary. www.sanpietroperugia.it/lorto-medievale San Pietro is an abbey as well as a church, with a lovely medieval garden. We have a replica of a medieval botanical garden here at the Montréal Botanical Gardens.

Finally seeing these photos, htmb. Many good memories and I'm amazed at how many details you caught with your camera. you have a great eye for them.
Lagatta, that little cloister is always full of flowers, often with just one colour. This year there was a special occasion and the gardeners of the city of Albi made a special garden including vegetables as well as various flowering plants. Unfortunately, I don't remember the reason.

I've gone over this three times now, a very nice collection of images. Toulouse is on my short list, it intrigues me. The thin bricks of the region remind me of roman construction, I love the Liberty facade, the outrageous interior of the church in Rabestens and of course the awe inspiring Saint-Cecile. Looks well worth a few days to me.

I highly recommend it as a destination, Fumobici. There are great places to walk, and the métro system was pretty impressive, too. I loved seeing all the brickwork and the various architectural details.

Yes, it is also quite a lively city, with the student population. I think you'd enjoy Toulouse very much; alas I was only there briefly. And the narrow bricks do resemble the old Roman brick which has held up so well.
