The first to complete the puzzle get bleach for free. One glass of bleach each morning keeps away Covid.

I just heard on NPR that the Trump re-election campaign has come up with a new campaign money raising idea that's going to be available soon. It's a Trump jigsaw puzzle for trumpers to play with during their COVID19 confinement. How many pieces?

How about 4 metre square pieces to remind us of the space we are permitted to occupy. For the seriously impaired, the pieces can be joined to form a one piece jigsaw. This jigsaw has the approval of the White House.

The Dems could raise a lot of money with a trivia game modeled after Trivial Pursuit or Jeopardy that would have questions about all the different staff members, committee heads, lawyers, etc. that have either been fired or resigned. Also, responses made by Trump when asked certain questions and a myriad of other Trump related quotes and other trivia.

Whatagain, no he prayed to Jeebus. Jeebus actually yelled at Pence to use his powers to heal the sick and drive the moneychangers out of the Temple, but neither Trump nor Pence would listen.
And don't get me started on Bolsonaro. The stats are terrifying.

Katie Miller, Vice President Mike Pence's press secretary, tested positive for coronavirus last week. This has caused even more turmoil at the White House. She possibly exposed a whole lot of insiders, and press people, before being diagnosed with the virus. Several staffers are now self-isolating, though not the invincible VP. Most interesting to me was finding out that Katie Miller is married to Trump’s main ghoul and all-around creep, Stephen.

I once read an editorial in the NY Times written by Miller's uncle, who said Miller should be ashamed of his attitudes and behaviour towards immigrants, given that he is the grandson of Jews who escaped from Europe in the 1930s.

I’ve also heard the uncle speak. He seems a very intelligent, educated man and I feel very sorry his family must suffer the likes of Stephen Miller. It’s not in my nature to hate, but in my opinion, people like Stephen Miller and his boss are despicable, sub-humans who deserve judgement for all the horrible things they’ve done to others.

I can't believe that in a country that has so much potential for good, so many people doing great and wonderful things for humanity, you elect a leader who surrounds himself with the scum of the gutter. Even the 'good guys' whom you hope will take over after November are pretty dodgy. We mock our leaders here for stupidity or handling situations in a clumsy way. If they display too much ineptitude or any criminal inclination we just vote them out and select another from the ranks of the elected members of the Government.

Playing it falsely naïve doesn't become you, Huckle. I don't agree with every element of this BBC article, but it brings up quite a few "specifics."

Aside from the fact that the article is from 2 months ago, and Bernie has since conceded to and endorsed Joe Biden, it does bring up some issues that may be important in the runup to the general election.
But Trump’s record - and his own words and tweets - provide more than enough evidence to take him down. Unless there is extensive voter suppression and/or election tampering. A genuine possibility with a GOP Senate unwilling to rein in their POTUS.
Which candidate is more human? More empathetic? More intelligent? Has the inclination to appoint experts rather than sycophants as advisors?
America is in big trouble if we allow Trump to get re-elected. 4 more years of his contempt for norms and balance of power will turn the world’s most famous democracy into a monarchy. Or a dictatorship.
Sad, that I can tell you...

The US Supreme Court is at this moment hearing arguments about whether congress may subpoena Trump’s financial records (from his accountants and the DeutscheBank). I hear it isn’t going well for Trump.
Since he appointed two of the justices (Gorsuch, whose position by rights SHOULD HAVE been filled by Obama’s pick, Merrick Garland) and Brett Kavanaugh, whose college capers filled his confirmation hearing with tales of binge-drinking, blacking out and alleged molestation.
If those two favor the man who appointed them over the rule of law, we are doomed.

If I were living in one of the half-dozen or so swing states, I'd still vote for Biden. But I'd have to take a long, hot shower afterwards. Luckily, I am not forced into that position, and based on his long and grievous policy record alone (well if too summarily summarized in the BBC piece) I won't be giving him my vote. Mainstream big-money Democrats are our enemy as well, they represent their wealthy donors and not working class Americans. That must be remembered, even in circumstances where we feel we must vote for them. The only thing exceeding my contempt for the Democratic Party is my contempt for the Republican one.

That's a pretty dodgy statement to make without more specifics which I hope you'll be glad to supply. Be my guest. Thank you, Huckle, I will. I made those comments as general observations rather than individual case studies. The BBC article that Kerouac has linked gives more precise information. (Thanks, my capitain) As an outsider I pick up on what people are saying here on Anyport, and on another US based forum from which I get contrasting views. It is the overall picture of the nature of the US electoral system that disappoints me. Still the same old, white men, determined to keep US in the 1950s. I can only say to my friends here...guard your democracy, little by little, appointment by appointment I feel you may wake up one morning and find "We, the People," are no longer in charge. Sorry, I got sidetracked, Huckle. I'm a bit dodgy when it comes to sticking to the Thread.

My belief is that general observations have brought fatigue with and mistrust of the entire electoral system that, in turn, has paved the way for the evil version of populism we have today Which came first, the chicken or the egg? Don't you see that the electoral system itself creates the cynicism that declares, "A pox on all their houses" and good people choose not to vote at all. US governors and city mayors operating now in the face of this pandemic, you would note many who are not old white men. Duly noted. Then the question arises...These guys are good, They are up and doing their best with one hand tied behind their backs by a President who is a distinct liability. Surely there must be someone in this generation who can rise to the challenge...uh-oh...Money, and lots of it. Without the millions of dollars which the old boys have squirrelled away, the aspiring POTUS hasn't a chance. prefer to have the evil doers such as judge Roberts whose supreme court ruling opened up election financing to those with most money and Mitch McConnell who is single-handedly tearing apart our democracy, singled out for their crimes. So why have they not been charged and brought to trial? They got Al Capone for tax evasion, remember? As for what the younger adults think...we had Civil rights (land rights for Aborigines in Australia), Vietnam and Saving the Franklin River. They will find their causes. They will be watching environmental goings on and speaking out.
