Facebook wants everything for itself. When you need a url from FB you have to open the url page & copy it from there instead. Anyway, thanks for that link. Should be required reading for all ages!

It's SO obvious when you stop to think about it. None of us has any control over who our parents are, or where we are born and raised. Those who are lucky in these things are just that. Lucky, not better somehow. If they do well, it's a far less significant achievement than when someone born disadvantaged does well. Why is this so hard to grok?

You play the cards you are being given. Some get shitty cards, some don't even get the full complement but after that it is your task to play what you have the best you can. It is easier to win wiht good cards, but not a certainty.

Tim Wise: On White Privilege Excellent. Rich folk perhaps didn't invent racism, but they have stoked and exploited it for their own ends for centuries and still do to this very day to divide and rule over working people. I'd expand it to conservatism/liberalism, another natural societal cleavage plane the ultra wealthy have exploited and still do today to divide and dis-empower ordinary working folk. The only ideology the ultra-wealthy have ever consistently held to is the ideology of greed and kicking down on everyone else. Exactly, Fumobici. Tim Rice is an intelligent and wise man, full of knowledge and not afraid to say it like it really is. We could sure do with more people him.
