I subscribed to Newsweek for years but also cancelled, even before it totally dumbed-down.
The only subscription I keep up is the New York Review of Books which maintains its high standard of good writing and intelligent political commentary.
As for dumbing-down elsewhere, I find the BBC website is getting progressively worse. It's more like a tabloid with little news but lots of "human interest" stories.

My old boss as quite touchy feely. He liked to massage the (young) females' shoulders or put his arm around us. He didn't think he was doing anything wrong, and in every other respect he was a brilliant boss. Nobody ever said anything to him about it I don't think. I didn't take any notice...if I didn't think want him to touch me I just moved out of the way, or said 'gerroff' but lots of the others suffered in silence and thought it was creepy, they were all relieved when he retired. He wouldn't get away with it now...
What was worse imo was the consultant who insisted on having prayer meetings in his office at lunchtimes, he herded a lot of the lab staff and junior doctors in, I refused as I'm an atheist and he never really liked me after I stood up to him. My lunchbreak was precious! It only went on for a few months...a real abuse of power imo.

When I think back to my office days, there were plenty of off colour comments from both sexes in jest, but I cannot remember anything being really crude. It was all in good fun (?) before the days of political correctness. I'm sure that it would not be the same now, but I frankly doubt that any harm was done. Nobody ever touched anybody inappropriately as far as I know. Most of my colleagues were quite open about office situations and I think they would have not hesitated to mention anything creepy -- other than the fact that we all knew which colleagues were a bit creepy and to be avoided.
Obviously, plenty of colleagues hooked up for certain periods of time. I must have been one of them since I remember romantic trips to New York, Jordan, Budapest, Brussels, Rome and Copenhagen. Jeez, that must have gone on longer than I thought. What's funny in an airline is that absolutely everybody knows who gets tickets at the same time and for which destination. Since I was in charge of seeing absolutely every ticket issued at my office, I was probably even more aware than most of my colleagues (I was very discreet.). Considering the fact that most things happen in the city where you live or on brief weekend road trips and that I never saw most of those things, everybody's hormones must have been out of control. But we were all young and healthy.
