Good on you Cheery - Blood donation is absolutely not scary and so important.
So much work must have gone into creating the colourful balls with their messages.

Yesterday I had arranged to meet my brother and three sisters for coffee and a catch up in town. (John Lewis cafe in the mall). Jeff drpped me off early and as I had time to kill I wandered around taking photographs of STUFF. The High Cross pub. Just around the corner from where The Blue Boar stood...the inn that existed in Richard III's time. The Tree...formerly known as The Orange Tree. Lovely in the daytime (good menu)...at night the town belongs to the young. Queen of Bradgate. Bit of a dump all of the above pubs are relativey new (20 years or so) and were previously independent shops. Another newish pub, selling Belgian beer (allegedly). Used to be a bank. Lumbers. An up-market jewellery store. Pretty window boxes. A very jolly chap cleaning the pavement. Happy to have his photograph taken and sends his regards to APIAS members. The Globe. Lovely old place...

Brings back memories of my time in England. Lots of places taken over and changed purpose. Everywhere looking clean, neat and tidy for a town centre, good stuff. Mowgli's menu - "Tomatoes tangled with panch phoron" - they like the work tangled in their menu and I very much doubt the average person there knows what panch phoron is. At least they've not gone overboard with the flowery dish descriptions. I'd like to try their food.

I make a panch phoron spice mix when cooking cauliflower and potato curry (it doesnt have a sauce). Over 50% of the city's population is of Indian or Pakistani origin..they probably know their spice mixes... panch phonon is Bengali isn't it?

No idea Cheery. Indian five spice is what I know it as.

Wish we had a Mowgli near here...
Prices are very reasonable.

One of the closed Banks in my town is being converted to living accommodation. Best thing for it.

Looks like a charming town center and ripe for a pub crawl. Oh, Hello Auntie too!
