Thanks Bixa, I had noticed that and have no idea how it happened, these computers are magic and insist on holding ones hand and doing things they think you want to do. Makes me angry at the young geeks who keep fiddling for the sake of it so after a so called upgrade, things don't work they way they used to.
Enough moaning, back to better things and Paris.
There are all sorts of expensive goodies to be had in Galeries Lafayette
There are all sorts of goodies displayed in the windows, which were really the object of this visit
and these
It goes relentlessly on and on
But it is really for the children, so they can set up the well known "I must have one of those" little cries
or this, to the indulgent adult who is shepherding them along
But, as the title shows, it is all just to create a dream
Now Lagatta, I had intended to visit both Buttes Chaumont and Place des Fetes, but my little legs just couldn't carry me. I did go to one of my favourite dining spots in Belleville. NO it was not the monstrosity on the corner here, which really messes up the view on the distant Eiffel Tower
But I was heading for the view from rue Piat over the parc de Belleville. On the way passing these Christmas trees ready wrapped. I took this picture because at first glance I mistook them for some prepared meat.
Some wag had stuck this rude, but most alarming, message on a sign
I had come to admire the view, pity it was such a grotty day
Someone had thoughtfully left a bench for people to relax on
And some more street art on the way back to rue de Belleville
I was here for a very satisfying lunch
There seems to be a noticeable increase on rough sleepers on metro platforms
But here is a cafe getting into the seasonal spirit
Cannot resist this street art, it must have been a devil to do
A few odds and ends to finish up
Kerouacs quiz, in which I am pleased to report the Anyport team came second, takes place near the Tour Jacques, which was strikingly floodlit
Walking along the Bassin the next day I say him off on his latest travels, madly scrambling for height
More 'art' to finish. I have undergone the procedure the quacks call TURP and winced when I read the side of this truck. Questa most likely knows why
