I suspect that seeing that doll gave her immense pleasure Cheery.
All she had aside from her uniform was a face mask, gloves and a plastic apron. In any given day she could visit up to 5 or 6 individual patients.
Yes that fits with current NHS / PHE guidance . It is still a worry though I guess for you and your son ( and her)

If you have a copy of that photo, it should go into your scrapbook.
This can be a useful visual record for future historians.

The ICU worker is going to my nephews wife who is working long hours as a GP and worn out, she's promised to keep it away from her 3 little monsters darlings (they are lovely...but would wreck it) Lab worker in a white coat is going to an ex colleague, she still works in the lab and is a lovely friend. Paramedic is going to have his uniform changed to an Australian paramedic's uniform and is going to my nephew in law who is a...paramedic in Melbourne. Working on a pattern to make a 'gentleman fox' fox head and tail but I'll use the doll body pattern for the rest...dressed I hope as a gentleman about town...might take a while...

What a shame for them to split up -- they look like best friends. You can see that the hairdressers have definitely been closed.

Wow, Cheery. I can't think of anything that would be more meaningful to the three recipients. So lovely of you!

I think your local historical society would like some photos for their records. In 100 years time they will probably have robots to do much of the clinical work and will marvel at the way this generation achieved so much with the 4 simple rules.

Cheery, your choice for the paramedic is brilliant. Back before Coronavirus, South East Australia was ablaze with out-of-control fires destroying towns and killing people. Fire fighters took the fight to the front and right there with them were the paramedics. Although the name has been changed to paramedic, everyone still calls them "Ambos" (ambulance 'men') and when incidences occur and small groups of people gather to "help", the collective sigh of relief is palpable "Ahh, the ambos are here" I hope your Aussie doll is as gorgeous as your others and Mr Fox ( Address- Athenaeum Club - London ) can strut his stuff .

I'm terribly excited about these Of course I will be sending labels out to my existing doll's owners so that they can stick/sew them on to their doll's pants or something...

It must have taken you ages to embroider all those little letters over and over and over and over again! The dolls' owners will be thrilled to get the labels, although I'm sure there is no doubt that your dolls could be anything other than brilliant Cheery originals.

Over-heard in an up-market beauty salon..."Harold is getting me a Liz Groom doll for my birthday" "Oh really? I saw some in the toy shop yesterday."
"They were only cheap copies from China, I mean the Real Thing" (sneers just a little) "You...you mean a labelled doll?"
"That is just what I mean, Sweetie, she designs them and searches for the right fabrics and sews them all herself." "So where do you get one, a real one, I mean?" (Starts planning campaign)
"Oh you have to KNOW someone who knows someone...Good Bye" Mutters to self, " Not fair. I want a Liz Groom doll with a label and all more than she does"

As if... but xxx I'm having a terrible job working out the pattern for my fox head doll...unlike a lot of folk I can't see how a 3D object will look as a flat pattern. I thought I'd got it right and tried to use long orange fur fabric but it was completely wrong...so I've hunted out a piece of orangey-brown cotton to try...and changed the pattern slightly. If it's a success then I'll try to get some short pile fur when the shops are open and I dare go out again

I gave the ICU worker doll to my nephew's wife. Sarah works as a doctor in general practice. They have 3 boys under 6 so I'm not surprised that the visor is gone already

She looks thrilled, as well she might be! Mick is right -- great picture. Maybe she took the visor off so it wouldn't reflect in the photo.

Turns out the visor was still in my sister's bag. Visor and dolly have been reunited. I've had a go at making an Australian paramedic (an 'ambo' ?) So questa will have to tell me if I got it right or not. Too late if it's wrong, it's on it's way to Melbourne to my niece's husband who is a paramedic.

Looks like I missed Bob the Paramedic when you first debuted him here. He is brilliant, of course, and has so much personality. It's lovely that George received him and is going to show him off to colleagues. That should be a bright spot as Melbourne is having to undergo a strict lockdown right now.
Who is the lovely blonde next to Bob?

I've had a go at making an Australian paramedic (an 'ambo' ?) So questa will have to tell me if I got it right or not. Crikey, Mate, you got him dead-set, spot on. SA ambos wear a dirty green but I googled the Vics and they use the blue. You even got the reflective tape and the red cross good. Not Red Cross...used to be them but we split when the Guvmint reckoned the vollies were not up to scratch with all the new Tech equipment and we are heaps better trained...and paid. Jeez, he's good...Bob is it? I'll keep an eye out for him and shout him a beer

My niece filmed George opening his parcel and he cracked up when he saw the doll...apparently he shouted 'Bob the paramedic!' (I hadn't named him) and laughed for about 10 minutes. I found the uniform on Google.

Re Mr Fox...check out the patterns for a Fancy Dress Fox costume in your favourite fabric shop or go online. Once you have a look at how the head pattern is worked you may be able to reproduce it in 3D. Kids here are wearing fox head "One-sies" like pyjamas.
