Well I am sure I would not/ could not buy anything but I would love to wander around and take in the sights, including that amazing webcam. So many great photos but especially enjoyed seeing the two photos below this, And I'm back out in the real world! .

That very clearly describes the problem with so many of these places. I prefer to see the bright side, because the more tourists who cram themselves into these places, the better life is for those of us in the less touristy areas. And if a lot of people keep saying "Paris is beautiful but it is so expensive!" maybe things will settle down one day.
And if La Samaritaine finally goes out of business, it will be the perfect location for a new museum.

Some people still wander into places and order without checking the price list. This bar is in the Samaritaine building at the hotel facing the Seine.

Yes, that's why the store is not at all overcrowded like the ones on Boulevard Haussmann.
