You can also see the floor in these new pictures. It's gorgeous. Is that original & redone or just beautiful contemporary wood? Is the rug on the floor from your travels? The floor had to be put in. There was just rough cement in the attic before that. And since it is "new" it is the only truly flat floor in my apartment. If you could see the support base built under it, you would see a variation of probably 8 centimetres from one side to the other. The rag rugs that I have were made in Turkey or Morocco or something, courtesy of Ikea. I recall that it was the price that attracted me, something like 10 euros. The artwork on the wall is Vietnamese lacquer, hauled back from Saigon. The tall floor lamp is actually made from paper, also from Ikea.

I have slanty floors as well. A challenge, especially in the kitchen, as I have to prevent water from accumulating under the fridge when I wash the floor. Other than the kitchen and bathroom, it is hardwood floors that are only damp-mopped.

We have fake wood in one of the rooms. Made of tiles, look like wood. Cleaned with water.

Thanks, Fumobici. You say you won't straighten up, but let's see how you'll feel after more quarantining. Maybe you'll show us before & after.
The floor really enhances that attic, Kerouac. And since it appears from the photos that you like to sit on the floor, it must have really expanded the use for you. The picture is lacquer?! Wow. No wonder you were willing to schlep it all the way back from Saigon. It is perfect in that room. The rugs are perfect there too.
Are your wood-looking tiles strips or squares, Whatagain? I've seen so many of the strip kind that are indistinguishable from wood.

Ah, yes ~ you did have to have that! I absolutely love the pegboard there -- what a great idea.

I absolutely enjoyed scouring through all of these photographs and reading every word. There is too much I like to list everything! But the overall feeling of coziness made me feel good tonight.
