What is wrong with police in the US ? Seems there is not a week without a black being shot. I know we should not conclyde too fast but Blake didnt seem to pose a threat police officers could not resolve without shooting him 7 times in front of 3 of his kids.

I read that one of the main problems is that most police shootings are investigated by the same police department to which the police officers were assigned. This makes coverups inevitable and a lot of the police feel that they will be covered if -- oops -- they make a mistake.
However, I also heard that in Kenosha there is a law that turns over such investigations to an independent body. This happened after another police killing -- of a white man -- in that city. The policeman shot him after rubbing his own back against the side view mirror of the vehicle and thinking it was a gun held by the "suspect." It is highly possible that if the victim had been black, no such law would ever have been voted.
