#1. My grandfather was shot in the back in his dining room.
#2. My husbands cousin was a professional hockey player.
#3. My father was held at knife point in Egypt.
(Intriguing thread idea Lugg!)

1) I rode an elephant in Nepal to a nearby river and scrubbed its skin with a stone and played rolling over and squirty games with her trunk.
2)I rode a mother camel in the Sahara which was carrying our water supplies. Her baby was learning to do the same and I was given the job of keeping her in line and behaving.
3)I rode a horse in Mongolia which broke away from the main group and took her own way home.

Bixa and Mick, you are correct! Although we do know a few players who played professionally, none are related.
#1. My grandfather was shot in the back as he was trying to get my grandmother out the dining room window after he spotted their son-in-law come in the room at dinnertime with a gun. Later they found he was suffering from a brain tumor that explained of his erratic behavior.
#2. My father was in Egypt on U.N. duty when he found himself outside the Canadian encampment and was apprehended from behind with a knife held to his neck. The soldier then recognized my father's voice as they worked side by side on building sites so he let him go and took him back to his area. They became good friends sending letters to each other for many many years.

1 )Did you know that when you are up to about 60cm from an elephant in a river, the water is bath-warm from her body heat.True
2) Mum camel carried dozens of water bottles, Baby was tied in to follow Mum and carry a few,but mainly learn how to walk in line. I was given a stick and told to bop him if he tried to pass me. I bopped a few times until Mum got fed up with my namby-pamby discipline, swung her head around full on and clobbered the Baby with her neck. He walked nicely behind me after that. True
3)This is the lie. I did ride a Mongolian pony through the beautiful Terelj fields but he was very sweet and we stayed with the other ponies all the way.

All of it is fascinating, even the barely-a-lie pony one.

Another one? 1) I took flying lessons in a Cessna 2-seater, enjoyed it very much but ran out of money,
2) I drove a diesel train (with supervision)from Broken Hill to the SA border. Goods train carrying 600 tons of wheat and diesel.
3) I was 'blue water' racing in my cousin's fantastic racing yacht. We hit dirty weather and I was sent below to get me out of the way.It was smelly, dim and bouncing around, of course I threw up!

I kind of guessed that because ( most ponies/ horses) are unlikely to leave their mates and head home alone.
Wonderful and fascinating experiences Questa
I'm going for No 3 again in your next selection

Ah...a horse psychologist. I thought you might get it.
It could be interesting for those who get it right telling us what gave it away for them? (Those who missed out can also say why.)

I don't feel qualified to make guesses on these. And of course I'm not.
1.-I spent a night drinking with G. Gordon Liddy and Timothy Leary.
2.- I lived with a house full of peyote eating Navajo Indians.
3.- I served an ace against Andre Agassi, probably the best serve returner in tennis history.

WE seem to have rather gone away from the rules of this game.

Uh-Oh here comes the rules police. What are we doing wrong? So Questa am i right to say that your lie is the Cessna ? I won a quiz prize 60 minute flying lesson and a pilot friend coached me in what the dials etc. were. On the day I was excited and keen but once we were flying I couldn't hear a word to the tower or between us. Turned out the headset was way to big and the Cessna in question was one of the noisiest aircraft.I did manage to fly it straight and level...for a bit, but it was a big disappointment.

Thanks, Mick! I had to go back to the beginning to see how the game is set up. The quite simple rules make for a better game. Since it has turned into a free-for-all, I am having trouble figuring out who posted what. how about a new game ? ...post two truths and a lie about you/ your life/ your family / your history etc etc .... the person who guesses the lie correctly takes up the challenge.

the person who guesses the lie correctly takes up the challenge. I did do that on purpose to stop it getting too complicated to follow. But Fumobicis are intriguing so how about we finish Questa's last challenge and then move on to Fumobici's if everyone is agreed ? I think Questa's suggestion of why we thought what we did adds something to this game though so happy to go with that. So Questa is it No 3 ? ie the blue water racing up-chuck ?
